We are seeking a proactive and skilled Facilities Support Technician to join our operations team in Calabar, Cross River State. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and general mechanical equipment.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and troubleshoot issues related to facilities infrastructure.
- Conduct minor repairs and installations such as changing light fixtures, fixing leaks, repairing furniture, and performing basic carpentry.
- Monitor and maintain building security systems, including access control and CCTV, reporting any discrepancies.
- Assist with facility inspections to identify and address potential hazards or maintenance needs.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory of supplies.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Coordinate with external contractors for specialized repairs or projects when necessary.
- Support set-up and breakdown for internal events and meetings.
- Keep work areas clean, organized, and free from hazards.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in facilities maintenance or a related field.
- Proficiency in basic electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems troubleshooting and repair.
- Strong general handyman skills including carpentry, painting, and basic mechanical repairs.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to maintenance.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and perform strenuous tasks.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic computer literacy for record-keeping and communication.
