Job Description
Middlesex University Mauritius is seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Lecturer to join our esteemed faculty. This is an exceptional opportunity for an academic professional to contribute to a thriving international university environment. As a Lecturer, you will be responsible for designing and delivering engaging lectures, seminars, and practical sessions to undergraduate and/or postgraduate students. You will contribute to the development and enhancement of our curriculum, ensuring its relevance and alignment with current industry trends and academic standards. Beyond the classroom, you will act as a personal tutor, offering guidance and mentorship to students, helping them navigate their academic journey and achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, prepare, and deliver high-quality lectures, seminars, and practical sessions for assigned modules.
- Develop and update module materials, ensuring they are current, engaging, and aligned with programme learning outcomes.
- Assess student coursework, examinations, and projects, providing timely and constructive feedback.
- Act as a personal tutor, offering academic and pastoral support to students.
- Contribute to curriculum development, review, and enhancement processes.
- Engage actively in research and scholarly activities, leading to publications, conference presentations, and/or grant applications.
- Supervise student dissertations, projects, and internships.
- Participate in departmental, faculty, and university-wide meetings and committees.
- Undertake administrative duties related to teaching, research, and student support.
- Engage in professional development activities to enhance teaching practices and subject expertise.
Required Skills
- PhD or equivalent doctoral degree in a relevant discipline.
- Proven experience in teaching at university or tertiary level.
- Excellent subject matter expertise in the relevant academic field.
- Strong pedagogical skills and a commitment to innovative teaching methods.
- Demonstrated ability to inspire and engage students from diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Proficiency in using virtual learning environments (VLEs) and other educational technologies.
