Key Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently to deliver and collect goods across assigned routes.
- Plan and optimize delivery routes using navigation tools and local knowledge to ensure timely arrivals.
- Load, unload, and secure various types of cargo, ensuring goods are protected during transit.
- Verify delivery manifests against received items and obtain necessary signatures upon delivery.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, maintaining vehicle cleanliness and reporting any maintenance needs or issues promptly.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company driving policies.
- Provide exceptional customer service during interactions with clients at delivery and collection points.
- Complete daily logs, delivery reports, and other necessary paperwork accurately and efficiently.
- Handle unexpected situations or route changes professionally and communicate effectively with dispatch.
Required Skills
- Valid Jamaican General Driver's License (at least Class C or D)
- Clean driving record with no major violations for the past 3 years
- Minimum of 2 years proven professional driving experience, preferably in delivery or logistics
- Excellent knowledge of Kingston's road network, including August Town and surrounding areas
- Strong navigational skills and familiarity with GPS devices and mapping applications
- Ability to lift, carry, and move packages or goods up to 50 lbs consistently
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for client interactions and team collaboration
- High level of reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience with handheld delivery devices or logistics software
