Key Responsibilities
- Assist licensed pharmacists with the dispensing of prescription medications, including data entry and labeling.
- Process customer transactions accurately, handling cash, credit, and insurance payments.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, assist with stock rotation, ordering, and receiving new supplies.
- Provide excellent customer service, addressing patient inquiries and escalating complex issues to the pharmacist.
- Organize and maintain the pharmacy workspace, ensuring cleanliness and compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Prepare and package medications for delivery or pickup, ensuring correct labeling and patient information.
- Assist with the management of patient profiles and medication records, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.
- Answer phones, direct calls, and manage incoming and outgoing faxes and emails.
- Help patients locate over-the-counter products and provide basic information under pharmacist supervision.
- Adhere strictly to all professional standards, policies, and procedures, including patient confidentiality (HIPAA/GDPR equivalent).
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Pharmacy Assistant or similar role (minimum 1 year).
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in German and English.
- Proficiency in using pharmacy software systems and point-of-sale (POS) systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information.
- Basic understanding of pharmaceutical terminology and common medications.
