Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated Graveyard Maintenance Helper to join our Facilities Management team in The Annex, Toronto. This critical overnight role ensures our premises remain in top condition, ready for the next day’s operations. Working from approximately 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM, you will perform essential cleaning, minor repairs, and general upkeep. We value a strong work ethic and the ability to operate effectively with minimal supervision. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming floors, emptying trash receptacles, and sanitizing surfaces.
- Conduct minor repairs and maintenance tasks such as changing light bulbs, tightening loose fixtures, and reporting larger maintenance issues to the appropriate department.
- Monitor building security systems and conduct regular patrols to ensure all areas are secure and report any unusual activity.
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels and proper storage.
- Prepare facility spaces for daily use, including setting up and rearranging furniture as needed.
- Operate and maintain basic cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
Required Skills
- Experience in janitorial or maintenance work, preferably commercial.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively during night shifts.
- Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and proactive problem-solving.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform tasks requiring physical exertion.
