Career.zycto is seeking a dedicated and experienced Virtual Network Technician to join our dynamic, fully remote team based out of Singapore. In this critical role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the stability, security, and optimal performance of our virtualized network environments for a diverse client base. As a Virtual Network Technician, you will remotely diagnose and resolve complex network issues, implement network configurations, and contribute to the design and deployment of scalable virtual network solutions. This position requires a proactive individual with a strong foundation in networking principles, virtualization technologies, and a commitment to delivering exceptional technical support from a home-based setup. You will be expected to manage your time effectively, communicate clearly with team members and clients across different time zones, and continuously update your skills in a rapidly evolving technological landscape. Key Responsibilities
- Remotely monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve virtual network incidents, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Configure, implement, and maintain virtual network devices and services (e.g., virtual firewalls, routers, switches, load balancers).
- Perform root cause analysis for complex network issues within virtualized infrastructure.
- Collaborate with engineering and development teams to design, implement, and optimize virtual network architectures.
- Manage network security policies and access controls within virtual environments.
- Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides meticulously.
- Participate in on-call rotations to provide 24/7 support for critical network infrastructure.
- Stay updated with emerging virtualization and networking technologies and best practices.
- Provide technical guidance and support to clients and internal stakeholders regarding virtual network connectivity.
Required Skills
- Proficiency with virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, KVM).
- Strong understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), and switching concepts.
- Experience with virtual networking components and software-defined networking (SDN) principles.
- Familiarity with network security concepts, firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Fortinet, Cisco ASA), and VPN technologies.
- Proficiency in network troubleshooting tools and methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, essential for a remote team environment.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
