Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and execute detailed test plans and test cases for API endpoints, ensuring comprehensive coverage.
- Perform functional, integration, regression, performance, and security testing on APIs.
- Utilize API testing tools (e.g., Postman, Swagger UI, SoapUI) for manual and automated test execution.
- Develop and maintain automated API test scripts using scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Java).
- Collaborate with developers, product managers, and other QA engineers to understand system requirements and design specifications.
- Identify, document, and track software defects and inconsistencies, working closely with development teams for resolution.
- Contribute to the enhancement of existing API testing frameworks and methodologies.
- Monitor API performance and reliability, reporting on key metrics and areas for improvement.
- Participate in code reviews and design discussions to ensure testability and quality from the early stages of development.
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and best practices in API testing and quality assurance.
Required Skills
- Minimum 2-3 years of professional experience in API testing and quality assurance.
- Proficiency with API testing tools such as Postman, Swagger UI, SoapUI, or similar.
- Solid understanding of RESTful APIs, SOAP, JSON, XML, and other data exchange formats.
- Experience in writing test cases, test plans, and comprehensive bug reports.
- Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Java) for test automation.
- Working knowledge of SQL for database validation.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
