As a Security Guard, you will be the front-line defense, responsible for maintaining order, deterring illegal activities, and responding promptly to any security incidents or emergencies. Key Responsibilities
- Patrol designated areas on foot and/or by vehicle to detect and prevent unauthorized activities, theft, vandalism, and other security breaches.
- Monitor surveillance cameras and alarm systems to identify and respond to potential threats or incidents in real-time.
- Control access to premises, verifying identities, issuing visitor passes, and ensuring only authorized personnel enter the property.
- Respond promptly and effectively to alarms, emergencies, disturbances, and calls for assistance, following established protocols.
- Conduct thorough searches of individuals, bags, or vehicles as required, adhering to company policies and legal guidelines.
- Maintain accurate and detailed logs of all security-related activities, observations, and incidents, preparing comprehensive reports.
- Enforce company security policies and procedures, educating personnel and visitors on safety regulations.
- Provide assistance to staff and visitors in a professional and courteous manner, offering directions or support as needed.
- Collaborate with emergency services (police, fire, ambulance) during critical incidents, providing necessary information and support.
- Perform routine checks of doors, windows, gates, and other entry points to ensure they are properly secured.
- Report any suspicious behavior, unsafe conditions, or malfunctioning equipment to the appropriate management.
- Assist with evacuation procedures during fire alarms or other emergencies.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Security Guard or in a similar security role.
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to operate surveillance equipment and basic security technology.
- Sound knowledge of security protocols and emergency procedures.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion.
- Physical fitness and ability to stand, walk, and patrol for extended periods.
- Ability to remain calm and effectively manage stressful situations.
- Valid Certificate of Good Conduct.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in a corporate, residential, or commercial security setting.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
- Training in self-defense or non-lethal restraint techniques.
- Knowledge of local security regulations and laws.
- Fluency in Swahili and English.
