Career.zycto is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Camp Counselor Aides to join our dynamic team in Sharjah for our upcoming youth programs. This part-time role offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a positive and engaging environment where children can learn, play, and develop new skills.
As a Camp Counselor Aide, you will be a vital part of our camp leadership, working closely with lead counselors to supervise and engage groups of children across a variety of activities. From arts and crafts and sports to team-building games and educational workshops, you’ll help facilitate a diverse range of programs designed to spark curiosity, build confidence, and promote teamwork. Your primary focus will be ensuring the safety and well-being of all campers, guiding them through daily routines, and encouraging their active participation.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist lead counselors in supervising and engaging groups of children during daily camp activities.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all campers at all times, adhering to all camp policies and procedures.
- Actively participate in and facilitate a wide range of recreational, educational, and creative activities including sports, arts & crafts, storytelling, and team games.
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and encouraging environment where every child feels welcome and valued.
- Help with the setup, organization, and breakdown of activity materials and equipment.
- Provide basic first aid and comfort to campers as needed, under the guidance of senior staff.
- Model appropriate behavior and positive sportsmanship for campers.
- Communicate effectively with campers, fellow staff members, and parents (when appropriate) regarding daily activities and camper progress.
- Assist with maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of camp areas.
Required Skills
- Demonstrated passion for working with children and youth.
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a strong sense of responsibility.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail, especially regarding child safety.
- Flexibility and adaptability to handle various situations and camp needs.
- Basic problem-solving abilities and a proactive attitude.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience (paid or volunteer) in a camp setting, childcare, tutoring, or similar roles working with children.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain before camp season).
- Knowledge of various recreational activities, arts and crafts, or educational games.
- Pursuing or holding a degree in education, recreation, psychology, social work, or a related field.
- Fluency in Arabic is an advantage given the local community context.
