Key Responsibilities
- Assist veterinarians and veterinary technicians during examinations, procedures, and surgeries, including preparing surgical sites and monitoring patients.
- Perform safe and humane animal handling and restraint techniques for various species.
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by the veterinarian, ensuring accurate dosing and record-keeping.
- Prepare and sterilize surgical instruments, equipment, and examination rooms.
- Provide compassionate nursing care for hospitalized patients, including feeding, walking, monitoring vital signs, and ensuring comfort.
- Conduct basic laboratory tests such as urinalysis, fecal examinations, and prepare samples for external analysis.
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care, nutrition, medication administration, and post-operative instructions.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient medical records, including treatment plans, observations, and communication with clients.
- Manage inventory of clinic supplies, assist with ordering, and ensure all areas are stocked and organized.
- Perform general cleaning and maintenance of the clinic, including kennels, examination rooms, and surgical areas, to uphold high standards of hygiene.
- Assist with front desk duties, including scheduling appointments, handling client inquiries, processing payments, and managing phone calls.
- Provide emotional support to pet owners during difficult times, demonstrating empathy and professionalism.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in animal handling and restraint techniques.
- Basic knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and common animal diseases.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with empathy for animals and their owners.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and sometimes emotionally challenging environment.

- Fluency in both English and Kiswahili.
