Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex mechanical issues on industrial plant machinery.
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, repairs, and overhauls of equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
- Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to extend asset lifespan and minimize downtime.
- Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for work order management, historical data tracking, and reporting.
- Collaborate with production, electrical, and control teams to optimize operational processes and resolve interdisciplinary issues.
- Support and lead small-scale engineering projects aimed at equipment upgrades, process improvements, or new installations.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies in all maintenance activities.
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for recurrent failures and implement corrective actions.
- Liaise with external suppliers and contractors for parts procurement, specialized services, and technical support.
- Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, equipment specifications, and repair histories.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance and repair within an industrial or manufacturing plant setting.
- Proven expertise in troubleshooting and repairing a wide range of industrial machinery (e.g., pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics).
- Strong understanding of mechanical principles, kinematics, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics.
- Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and P&IDs.
- Experience with CMMS software.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and quality standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or working towards it.
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience with specific CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
- Previous experience in a highly regulated industry (e.g., food & beverage, pharmaceuticals, heavy manufacturing).
- Knowledge of condition monitoring techniques (vibration analysis, thermography).
- Project management experience.
