Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex mechanical issues on industrial plant machinery.
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, repairs, and overhauls of equipment to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to extend asset lifespan and minimize downtime.
  • Utilize Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for work order management, historical data tracking, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with production, electrical, and control teams to optimize operational processes and resolve interdisciplinary issues.
  • Support and lead small-scale engineering projects aimed at equipment upgrades, process improvements, or new installations.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies in all maintenance activities.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for recurrent failures and implement corrective actions.
  • Liaise with external suppliers and contractors for parts procurement, specialized services, and technical support.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, equipment specifications, and repair histories.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Minimum of 4 years of hands-on experience in mechanical maintenance and repair within an industrial or manufacturing plant setting.
  • Proven expertise in troubleshooting and repairing a wide range of industrial machinery (e.g., pumps, motors, gearboxes, conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics).
  • Strong understanding of mechanical principles, kinematics, fluid dynamics, and thermodynamics.
  • Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, blueprints, and P&IDs.
  • Experience with CMMS software.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety and quality standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or working towards it.
  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Experience with specific CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD).
  • Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • Previous experience in a highly regulated industry (e.g., food & beverage, pharmaceuticals, heavy manufacturing).
  • Knowledge of condition monitoring techniques (vibration analysis, thermography).
  • Project management experience.
