Are you an experienced and responsible motorcycle rider looking for a rewarding opportunity in Morogoro? Jumia Tanzania is actively seeking dedicated and energetic Delivery Riders to join our dynamic logistics team. As a Delivery Rider, you will be the face of Jumia, ensuring the timely and safe delivery of a wide range of products directly to our valued customers across Morogoro, Morogoro Region. This role is crucial to our operations, as you will be directly responsible for customer satisfaction and the efficiency of our delivery network.
Your day will involve picking up parcels from our hub, meticulously planning your routes, and navigating the city to meet delivery schedules. Key Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently deliver packages, documents, and other items to designated locations within Morogoro.
- Verify order details and obtain customer signatures or appropriate confirmation of delivery.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries and collections, including cash-on-delivery transactions.
- Handle packages with care to prevent damage during transit.
- Communicate effectively with customers, dispatch, and internal teams regarding delivery status or issues.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws and company safety policies.
- Ensure the motorcycle is well-maintained, clean, and in good working condition.
- Assist with loading and unloading packages as needed at the hub and delivery points.
- Provide excellent customer service and represent Jumia in a professional manner.
Required Skills
- Valid Class A motorcycle driving license.
- Proven experience in motorcycle riding, preferably in a delivery capacity.
- Excellent knowledge of Morogoro roads and routes.
- Ability to read and follow maps or GPS directions accurately.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High level of responsibility and reliability.
- Basic numeracy skills for handling cash and reconciliation.
Preferred Qualifications
- At least 1 year of professional delivery experience in an urban setting.
- Experience with smartphone-based delivery applications.
- Familiarity with e-commerce logistics operations.
- Secondary school education certificate.
