Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled IT Technician with a strong focus on hardware setup and troubleshooting to join our growing team in Henbury, Bristol. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform setup, configuration, and deployment of new hardware including desktops, laptops, servers, printers, and network devices.
  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve hardware and peripheral device issues efficiently and effectively.
  • Conduct routine maintenance, repairs, and upgrades for all IT hardware to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Install and configure operating systems and software applications as required, ensuring compatibility and proper functionality.
  • Provide technical support to end-users for hardware-related queries and issues, offering clear and concise solutions.
  • Maintain accurate inventory records of all hardware assets and manage their lifecycle from acquisition to disposal.
  • Collaborate with the broader IT team on projects involving system rollouts, infrastructure improvements, and technology advancements.
  • Document troubleshooting steps, solutions, and best practices to build a comprehensive knowledge base.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience with PC hardware components, assembly, and repair.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows operating systems (Windows 10/11) and basic networking concepts.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving hardware and software conflicts.
  • Familiarity with various peripheral devices such as printers, scanners, and monitors.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective user support.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant IT certifications (e.g., CompTIA A+, Microsoft Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator Associate).
  • Experience with server hardware and basic server administration.
  • Knowledge of mobile device management (MDM) and support.
  • Prior experience in a similar IT support or technician role.
