Key Responsibilities
- Operate company vehicles safely and efficiently to transport goods to various destinations within Discovery Bay, St. Ann, and surrounding regions.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles, documenting any issues and ensuring vehicle cleanliness.
- Load, unload, and secure cargo properly to prevent damage during transit.
- Verify accuracy of delivery manifests against physical inventory.
- Ensure timely deliveries, adhering to scheduled routes and timelines.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery confirmations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, clients, and team members regarding delivery status, delays, or issues.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations.
- Assist with warehouse duties or other general tasks as needed when not on delivery routes.
Required Skills
- Valid General Driver's License (Class C or D equivalent in Jamaica).
- Minimum 2 years of professional driving experience, preferably in logistics or delivery.
- Clean driving record with no major violations.
- Strong knowledge of local traffic laws and routes within St. Ann and surrounding parishes.
- Ability to lift and move heavy packages (up to 50 lbs) safely.
- Excellent time management and organizational skills.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Demonstrated reliability and punctuality.
Preferred Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with handheld delivery devices or logistics software.
- Familiarity with basic vehicle maintenance and troubleshooting.
