Are you an experienced Finance Systems professional with a passion for optimising financial operations and a knack for problem-solving? Praetura Ventures is seeking a dedicated and proactive Remote Finance Systems Support Specialist to join our growing team. This fully remote position is pivotal in ensuring the smooth, efficient operation of our critical finance systems, directly supporting our mission to invest in and nurture high-potential businesses.
You will be the go-to expert for all finance system queries, providing essential support to our finance department and stakeholders. Your instrumental contributions will cover data integrity, issue troubleshooting, and system enhancement. Offering the flexibility of remote work, you’ll remain closely connected to our Manchester team through virtual collaboration. Key Responsibilities
- Provide first and second-line support for all finance system queries, ensuring timely resolution.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and security settings within finance systems.
- Conduct regular system maintenance, data integrity checks, and reconciliations.
- Assist in the implementation, testing, and upgrade of new finance modules or systems.
- Develop and maintain system documentation and user training materials.
- Deliver training sessions to finance and non-finance users on system functionalities.
- Collaborate with internal IT teams and external vendors to resolve complex technical issues.
- Generate custom reports and dashboards to meet analytical needs.
- Identify opportunities for system improvements and automation to enhance efficiency.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes from a systems perspective.
Required Skills
- Minimum 3 years of proven experience in a Finance Systems Support or similar role.
- Strong understanding of core accounting principles and financial processes (e.g., General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable).
- Proficiency with at least one major ERP or accounting software (e.g., Sage, NetSuite, Xero, QuickBooks Enterprise).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of explaining technical concepts clearly.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively in a remote environment.
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, data analysis).
- Experience with report writing tools and data extraction.
Preferred Qualifications
- Part-qualified or actively pursuing a recognised accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ACA).
- Experience with SQL for data querying and manipulation.
- Familiarity with financial reporting standards and regulatory requirements.
- Previous experience in a venture capital or financial services environment.
- Knowledge of automation tools and process improvement methodologies.
