Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain engaging, responsive, and user-friendly web interfaces across various digital platforms.
- Create wireframes, user flows, storyboards, site maps, and prototypes to communicate design ideas and solutions effectively.
- Translate concepts into user flows, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes that lead to intuitive user experiences.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and other stakeholders to define and implement innovative solutions for the product direction, visuals, and experience.
- Conduct user research, usability testing, and gather feedback to inform design decisions and iterate on products.
- Ensure all designs adhere to brand guidelines, accessibility standards, and best practices for web design and usability.
- Implement frontend aspects using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, ensuring cross-browser compatibility and optimal performance.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest UI trends, techniques, and technologies, actively suggesting new tools and methods.
- Optimise web applications for maximum speed and scalability while ensuring SEO best practices are considered in design.
- Present and defend designs and key milestone deliverables to peers and executive level stakeholders.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Web Designer with a strong portfolio showcasing expertise in UI/UX design, frontend development, and user flow.
- Expert proficiency in design and prototyping tools such such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, or similar.
- Solid understanding of modern web design principles, user-centered design methodologies, and industry best practices.
- Proficient in HTML5, CSS3 (including SASS/LESS), and JavaScript for creating interactive and dynamic interfaces.
- Experience with responsive and adaptive design techniques, ensuring seamless experiences across all devices and screen sizes.
- Strong understanding of cross-browser compatibility, web performance optimisation, and accessibility standards (WCAG).
- Excellent visual design skills with sensitivity to user-system interaction and a keen eye for aesthetics.
- Ability to articulate design decisions and rationale clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with version control systems like Git.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Web Design, Graphic Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field.
- Experience with modern frontend frameworks/libraries like React, Vue.js, or Angular.
