Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, implement, and maintain scalable and high-performance enterprise data warehouse solutions.
  • Develop and optimize complex ETL processes using various tools and scripting languages to extract, transform, and load data from diverse source systems into the data warehouse.
  • Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to gather and translate business requirements into technical specifications and data models.
  • Perform data modeling (dimensional and relational) to support business intelligence and analytical needs.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and security within the data warehouse environment.
  • Monitor data warehouse performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions for optimization.
  • Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for data warehouse architecture, data models, ETL processes, and reports.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior team members.
  • Stay abreast of industry best practices, emerging technologies, and trends in data warehousing and business intelligence.
  • Assist in the development and enforcement of data governance policies and procedures.

Required Skills

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience in data warehousing, ETL development, and data modeling.
  • Proficiency in SQL (T-SQL, PL/SQL, or similar) with advanced querying and scripting skills.
  • Demonstrable experience with at least one major ETL tool (e.g., SSIS, Informatica, Talend, DataStage).
  • Strong understanding of dimensional modeling (Star Schema, Snowflake Schema) and data warehousing concepts.
  • Experience with relational database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL).
  • Familiarity with data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Qlik Sense).
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
  • Experience with cloud-based data warehousing platforms (e.g., AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery, Azure Synapse Analytics).
  • Knowledge of data governance, master data management (MDM), and data quality frameworks.
  • Experience in the mining or heavy industry sector.
