As a Jumia Delivery Rider, you will be the face of our brand, ensuring the swift, safe, and efficient delivery of a wide range of products directly to our valued customers. Key Responsibilities
- Efficiently pick up packages from designated Jumia hubs or vendor locations.
- Verify order details and package contents against delivery manifests to ensure accuracy.
- Safely and promptly transport packages to customer locations using a motorcycle.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws and Jumia's safety protocols while on the road.
- Interact with customers in a professional, courteous, and friendly manner, ensuring a positive delivery experience.
- Process cash-on-delivery payments accurately and handle necessary documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members regarding delivery status, delays, or issues.
- Maintain the cleanliness and good working condition of the assigned delivery motorcycle.
- Handle customer queries and complaints professionally or escalate them as required.
- Utilize delivery application features for route planning, order updates, and proof of delivery.
Required Skills
- Valid Kenyan motorcycle riding license (Class A2).
- Proven experience as a delivery rider or in a similar role.
- Excellent knowledge of Lavington and broader Nairobi road networks.
- Ability to operate a smartphone and use navigation/delivery applications effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good physical stamina and ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- High degree of reliability, punctuality, and responsibility.
- Commitment to road safety and safe riding practices.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) or equivalent.
- Previous experience working for an e-commerce or logistics company.
- Basic motorcycle maintenance knowledge.
- Familiarity with digital payment systems.
- Clean driving record.
