Key Responsibilities

  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely payments and collections.
  • Process and manage bi-weekly/monthly payroll, including calculations, deductions, and submissions.
  • Reconcile bank statements and credit card statements accurately and regularly.
  • Prepare and process customer invoices, tracking outstanding balances.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software.
  • Prepare financial reports, including profit and loss statements and balance sheets.
  • Assist with budget preparation and financial forecasting.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and company policies.
  • Manage petty cash and expense claims.
  • Assist external auditors during year-end audits.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar financial role.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage).
  • Excellent data entry and numerical accuracy skills.
  • Solid understanding of payroll processing and relevant tax regulations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Exceptional organisational and time management skills.
  • High degree of integrity and confidentiality.

Preferred Qualifications

  • AAT qualification or equivalent bookkeeping certification.
  • Experience working in a consultancy or client-facing financial services environment.
  • Familiarity with UK GAAP.
