Econet Wireless Zimbabwe is seeking a highly skilled Senior Workflow Automation Engineer to join our innovative team in Chitungwiza. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing robust automation solutions that streamline critical business processes, enhance operational efficiency, and drive strategic growth across various departments. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including IT, operations, and customer service, leveraging your expertise in Robotic Process Automation (RPA), API integrations, and low-code platforms to identify automation opportunities and deliver scalable, impactful solutions that directly contribute to our business objectives. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the analysis, design, development, and deployment of complex workflow automation solutions using RPA platforms (e.g., UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism) and other automation technologies.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather requirements, understand current processes, identify automation opportunities, and define optimal automation strategies.
- Develop, test, and maintain robust and scalable automation scripts, bots, and integrations, ensuring high performance and reliability.
- Integrate automation solutions with existing enterprise systems, APIs, and databases to create seamless end-to-end workflows.
- Establish and enforce automation best practices, coding standards, and security protocols across all automation initiatives.
- Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to junior automation engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
- Monitor and troubleshoot deployed automation processes, ensuring minimal disruption and maximum uptime.
- Conduct thorough testing, debugging, and quality assurance for all automation solutions.
- Create comprehensive documentation for automation designs, processes, and operating procedures.
- Stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in workflow automation and intelligent automation technologies.
- Contribute to the strategic planning and roadmap development for enterprise-wide automation efforts.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in workflow automation, RPA development, or similar roles.
- Proficiency in at least one major RPA platform (e.g., UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism).
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, C#, Java, or JavaScript.
- Extensive experience with API integrations (REST, SOAP) and web services.
- Solid understanding of database concepts and experience with SQL (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, SQL Server).
- Demonstrated ability to analyze complex business processes and identify suitable automation candidates.
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- Relevant RPA certifications (e.g., UiPath Advanced Developer, Automation Anywhere Certified Master RPA Developer).
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their automation services.
- Familiarity with low-code/no-code platforms and business process management (BPM) tools.
- Experience in the telecommunications industry or a similarly complex enterprise environment.
- Project management experience with a track record of successfully delivering automation projects.
