Key Responsibilities

  • Assist patients/residents with daily living activities, including personal care, dressing, mobility, and feeding, whilst promoting independence.
  • Monitor and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure) and accurately report any changes or concerns to senior nurses or healthcare professionals.
  • Support patients with their mobility needs, including assisting with transfers, walking aids, and repositioning to prevent pressure sores.
  • Maintain a clean, tidy, and safe environment for patients, adhering to all health and safety guidelines and infection control protocols.
  • Assist with the administration of medication under the direct supervision of a qualified nurse, following prescribed guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively and empathetically with patients, their families, and colleagues, providing emotional support and responding to their needs.
  • Accurately complete all necessary documentation, including care plans, observations, and incident reports.
  • Participate in team meetings and training sessions to enhance skills and contribute to the overall quality of care.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and relevant healthcare regulations and standards.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Healthcare Assistant or Carer, ideally for at least 12 months.
  • NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent qualification).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate and patient-centred approach.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and independently when required.
  • Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
  • Understanding of basic first aid and infection control practices.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a hospital or nursing home setting in the UK or internationally.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding vulnerable adults and children.
  • Proficiency in additional languages relevant to London's diverse population.
