Job Description
We are actively seeking an experienced and highly motivated Cleaning Supervisor to lead our dedicated Janitorial Team in Songea, Ruvuma Region. This pivotal role requires an individual with a proven track record in supervising cleaning operations, ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation across various client sites, which may include corporate offices, retail spaces, educational institutions, and residential complexes. As a Cleaning Supervisor, you will be the cornerstone of our operations, responsible for the day-to-day management of our cleaning staff, including scheduling, training, performance monitoring, and ensuring adherence to safety protocols and company policies. Key Responsibilities
- Lead, train, and supervise a team of janitorial staff, ensuring high levels of performance and adherence to company standards.
- Develop and manage work schedules, allocate tasks, and monitor team productivity to meet operational deadlines and client expectations.
- Conduct regular inspections of client premises to ensure cleaning quality meets or exceeds established benchmarks.
- Manage inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, placing orders as needed and ensuring proper storage and maintenance.
- Implement and enforce health and safety regulations, ensuring all team members are trained and comply with safety procedures.
- Provide ongoing training and professional development to the janitorial team, focusing on best practices and new techniques.
- Address client feedback and concerns promptly and professionally, resolving issues to ensure complete client satisfaction.
- Prepare daily and weekly reports on team activities, attendance, supply usage, and any incidents.
- Operate and maintain a variety of cleaning equipment safely and efficiently.
- Foster a positive and collaborative team environment, promoting respect and teamwork.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures, as well as local regulations.
Required Skills
- Proven experience (minimum 3 years) in a supervisory role within cleaning, janitorial, or facilities management services.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities with a focus on motivation and performance.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both verbal and written, in English and Swahili.
- Exceptional organizational and time management capabilities.
- A keen eye for detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite) for reporting and scheduling.
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of various cleaning chemicals, tools, and equipment, and their safe application.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel to various client sites within Songea and surrounding areas.
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Certificate in Facilities Management, Hospitality, or a related field.
- Certification in occupational health and safety (e.g., OSHA, NEBOSH) or relevant local certifications.
- Experience with sustainable cleaning practices and eco-friendly products.
- First Aid and CPR certification.
