Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on vehicle systems (engine, transmission, brakes, steering, suspension, electrical) using advanced diagnostic equipment and tools.
- Execute accurate and timely repairs, replacements, and adjustments to various vehicle components in accordance with manufacturer specifications and industry best practices.
- Conduct routine maintenance services, including oil changes, tire rotations, filter replacements, fluid checks, and general tune-ups.
- Perform thorough vehicle inspections to identify potential issues, wear and tear, and safety concerns, providing detailed reports and recommendations.
- Interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and service bulletins to resolve complex technical challenges.
- Communicate effectively with service advisors and, when necessary, directly with customers to explain vehicle issues, repair procedures, and maintenance recommendations clearly and professionally.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment, adhering strictly to all safety protocols and company policies.
- Accurately document all work performed, parts used, and diagnostic findings in the company's service management system.
- Stay updated with the latest automotive technologies, repair techniques, and industry trends through continuous learning and training.
- Assist in maintaining workshop equipment and tools, ensuring they are in good working condition.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as an Auto Mechanic, with a strong focus on diagnostics and repair.
- In-depth knowledge of automotive systems including engines, transmissions, braking, steering, suspension, and electrical systems.
- Proficiency in using various diagnostic tools, scan tools, and workshop equipment.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Excellent manual dexterity and physical stamina.
- Valid Kenyan driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
