Key Responsibilities
- Install, maintain, and repair various HVAC systems including split units, VRF/VRV, chillers, and ventilation systems.
- Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and refrigerant circuit faults accurately and efficiently.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on HVAC equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
- Calibrate thermostats, humidistats, and other control devices.
- Interpret and utilize blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams during installation and troubleshooting.
- Adhere strictly to all safety standards, industry regulations, and local building codes.
- Provide exceptional customer service, explaining technical issues and solutions clearly to clients.
- Accurately document all service, repair, and installation activities, including parts used and time spent.
- Manage and maintain company service vehicle, tools, and equipment.
Required Skills
- Proven proficiency in HVAC system installation, maintenance, and repair.
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills for electrical and mechanical faults.
- In-depth knowledge of HVAC electrical systems and components.
- Familiarity with various HVAC equipment types and brands (e.g., split systems, VRF, chillers).
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, blueprints, and wiring diagrams.
- Valid Kenyan driving license with a clean record.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client interaction.
- Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, and at heights.
- Strong commitment to safety protocols and quality workmanship.
Preferred Qualifications
- Relevant technical diploma or higher in HVAC, Refrigeration, or Mechanical Engineering.
- Certification in refrigerant handling (e.g., EPA certification or local equivalent).
- Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) or smart HVAC controls.
- Comprehensive understanding of refrigeration cycles and principles.
- Familiarity with energy efficiency best practices and sustainable HVAC solutions.
