Career.zycto is on the lookout for a highly skilled and dedicated Payroll Analyst to join our vibrant Financial Department in Plymouth. As a Payroll Analyst, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the payroll cycle, from data input and verification to statutory reporting and query resolution. Key Responsibilities
- Manage and process end-to-end payroll for all employees accurately and on time, adhering to company policies and UK legislation.
- Verify timesheet data, expense claims, and other payroll inputs for accuracy and completeness.
- Calculate and process statutory deductions including PAYE, National Insurance, sick pay, maternity pay, and pensions.
- Handle all payroll-related queries from employees and external bodies efficiently and professionally.
- Prepare and submit statutory payroll reports (e.g., FPS, EPS) to HMRC and other relevant authorities.
- Reconcile payroll data, general ledger accounts, and ensure data integrity.
- Assist with internal and external payroll audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of payroll legislation, tax codes, and compliance requirements.
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices within the payroll function.
- Collaborate with the HR department to ensure accurate employee data management for payroll purposes.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Payroll Analyst or similar role in the UK.
- In-depth knowledge of UK payroll legislation, tax codes, and statutory requirements (PAYE, NI, SSP, SMP etc.).
- Proficiency in payroll software (e.g., Sage Payroll, IRIS, ADP) and advanced Excel skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of handling sensitive information.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Discretion and confidentiality when handling sensitive employee and financial data.
Preferred Qualifications
- CIPP (Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals) qualification or working towards it.
- Experience with an integrated HR/Payroll system.
- Knowledge of pension scheme administration.
