Job Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Event Sales Manager to join our dynamic team in Ikoyi, Lagos. This pivotal role involves leading our sales efforts to identify, secure, and manage a diverse portfolio of event clients, ensuring robust revenue growth and exceptional client satisfaction. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in event sales, demonstrating a keen understanding of market trends, strong negotiation skills, and the ability to build lasting client relationships.

As our Event Sales Manager, you will be instrumental in expanding our market presence within the competitive Lagos event landscape. You will be responsible for developing comprehensive sales strategies, generating new leads through proactive outreach and networking, and crafting bespoke event proposals that align with client objectives. This role demands a strategic thinker who can not only meet but exceed sales targets, while also contributing to the overall brand development and reputation of Career.zycto’s event services.

Your day-to-day will involve everything from initial client consultations and venue scouting to budget management and post-event follow-up. You will collaborate closely with our event planning and operations teams to ensure seamless execution from concept to completion. Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective sales strategies to achieve and exceed event sales targets.
  • Identify and cultivate new business opportunities through lead generation, cold calling, networking, and market research.
  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships, understanding their needs and offering tailored event solutions.
  • Prepare compelling proposals, presentations, and contracts for prospective clients.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with clients to maximize revenue and profitability.
  • Collaborate with the event planning and operations teams to ensure seamless execution of all booked events.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify new business opportunities.
  • Manage client accounts from initial contact through to post-event follow-up, ensuring high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and networking functions.
  • Maintain accurate records of all sales activities and client interactions in the CRM system.
  • Provide regular sales forecasts and reports to management.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in event sales or a related field (hospitality, MICE, venue sales).
  • Demonstrable ability to communicate, present, and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of an organization.
  • Strong business acumen with a problem-solving attitude.
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM software (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Results-driven with a strong sales aptitude.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Hospitality Management, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with the Lagos event market, including key venues, vendors, and corporate clients.
  • Experience with luxury events or high-profile client management.
  • Ability to speak multiple local languages (e.g., Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa) is a plus.
