Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage a specific kitchen section (e.g., Sauté, Grill, Larder), ensuring operational efficiency and consistency.
  • Prepare and cook dishes according to established recipes, quality standards, and presentation guidelines.
  • Monitor and maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned workstation and equipment at all times.
  • Assist in inventory management, including ordering, receiving, and proper storage of ingredients to minimize waste.
  • Train, supervise, and mentor Commis Chefs and other junior kitchen staff, fostering a learning environment.
  • Collaborate with the Head Chef and Sous Chef on menu development, special promotions, and daily specials.
  • Ensure strict compliance with all health and safety regulations, including HACCP standards, throughout the kitchen.
  • Contribute to a positive and respectful kitchen environment, fostering teamwork and clear communication among all staff.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Chef de Partie or equivalent role in a reputable kitchen environment (minimum 3 years).
  • Strong culinary skills across various cooking techniques and a broad understanding of international cuisines.
  • Excellent understanding and adherence to food safety and sanitation procedures (HACCP certification preferred).
  • Ability to work effectively and maintain composure under pressure in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and efficient time management.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of clear direction and constructive feedback.
  • Proficiency in English (verbal and written) to communicate with team members and management.
  • Demonstrated leadership potential and ability to train and motivate junior culinary staff.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Formal culinary degree or equivalent professional certification from a recognized institution.
  • Experience with fine dining establishments or specific international cuisine specialties.
  • Knowledge of local and seasonal ingredients commonly used in the US market.
  • Multilingual abilities, especially in languages relevant to international teams.
