Key Responsibilities
- Assist delivery drivers with loading and unloading packages, parcels, and other goods safely and efficiently from the delivery van.
- Verify accuracy of outgoing and incoming shipments against delivery manifests or invoices.
- Navigate delivery routes alongside the driver, assisting with directions and optimal routing as needed.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, maintaining a professional and courteous demeanor.
- Ensure proper handling and secure placement of items to prevent damage during transit.
- Support the driver in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the delivery vehicle.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and team members regarding delivery status or issues.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle in conjunction with the driver.
Required Skills
- Strong physical stamina and ability to lift heavy packages (up to 50 lbs) repeatedly.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
- Reliable, punctual, and highly dependable.
- Basic geographical knowledge of Toronto and surrounding areas or willingness to learn quickly.
- Comfortable with early morning starts and varying shift durations.
- Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.
