Key Responsibilities
- Provide attentive supervision and ensure the safety of children at all times.
- Engage children in age-appropriate educational and recreational activities.
- Assist with daily routines, including meal times, nap times, and hygiene.
- Foster a positive and stimulating environment conducive to learning and play.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians regarding children's daily activities and progress.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of play areas and children's belongings.
- Administer basic first aid if necessary and adhere to all safety protocols.
- Support children with homework and school projects as required.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in childcare (babysitting, nannying, daycare assistant)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for children
- Ability to adapt to various family environments and routines
- Strong organizational and time management abilities
- Basic knowledge of child development stages
- Ability to handle emergencies calmly and effectively
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in Early Childhood Education or related field
- First Aid and CPR certification (current)
- Experience with special needs children
- Fluency in an additional local language (e.g., Yoruba, Igbo)
- Professional references from previous childcare roles
