Key Responsibilities
- Receive, label, and process patient specimens (blood, urine, tissue, etc.) accurately and efficiently.
- Prepare specimens for testing, including centrifuging, aliquoting, and creating microscopic slides.
- Perform routine cleaning and maintenance of laboratory equipment and work areas.
- Monitor and maintain inventory of lab supplies, chemicals, and reagents, reporting needs to senior staff.
- Assist Medical Technologists with routine tests and procedures under direct supervision.
- Accurately record and document all patient and specimen information in laboratory systems.
- Adhere strictly to all laboratory safety protocols, quality control measures, and infection prevention guidelines.
- Dispose of biohazardous waste according to established procedures.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment.
- Communicate effectively with team members regarding specimen status and workflow.
