Key Responsibilities

  • Clean and tidy all assigned guest rooms according to established standards of cleanliness and hygiene, including making beds, dusting furniture, vacuuming carpets, and cleaning bathrooms.
  • Replenish guest room amenities and supplies, ensuring all items are neatly arranged and fully stocked.
  • Clean and maintain public areas such as lobbies, corridors, elevators, and lounges to ensure they are always presentable and welcoming.
  • Handle and dispose of trash and recyclables properly, adhering to all safety and environmental guidelines.
  • Report any maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards in guest rooms or public areas promptly to the supervisor.
  • Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including proper handling of cleaning chemicals and equipment.
  • Respond courteously and efficiently to guest requests and inquiries, ensuring a high level of guest satisfaction.
  • Assist with laundry duties, including sorting, washing, folding, and distributing linens as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in housekeeping storage areas and carts.
  • Perform deep cleaning tasks as scheduled or required.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in housekeeping or a similar role, preferably within a hotel or hospitality setting.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
  • Ability to work efficiently and independently, as well as part of a team.
  • Good physical stamina and ability to perform tasks requiring bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods.
  • Reliable, punctual, and a strong work ethic.
  • Basic understanding of health and safety procedures, particularly in handling cleaning chemicals.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification in hospitality or housekeeping.
  • Familiarity with various cleaning products and equipment.
  • Ability to speak multiple local languages (e.g., Yoruba, Igbo, Hausa) is a plus.
  • Experience in a 3-star or higher hotel environment.
