Job Description

We are seeking highly vigilant and dedicated Security Guards to join our team, providing essential day and night shift coverage in various locations across Glasgow, Scotland. As a Security Guard with Career.zycto, you will be a critical asset in maintaining a safe and secure environment for our clients, their personnel, and their assets. This role requires an individual with exceptional observational skills, a strong sense of responsibility, and the ability to respond effectively to a diverse range of situations.

Your primary objective will be to deter crime, detect unauthorized activity, and ensure adherence to established security protocols. You will be responsible for conducting regular patrols, monitoring CCTV systems, controlling access points, and providing a visible security presence. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular foot patrols of premises, both internal and external, ensuring all areas are secure and free from unauthorized access or activity.
  • Monitor and operate CCTV and alarm systems, promptly responding to alerts and suspicious activities.
  • Control access to premises, verifying identities, issuing visitor passes, and maintaining accurate logs.
  • Respond effectively to alarms, incidents, and emergency situations, including fire, medical emergencies, and security breaches, following established protocols.
  • Write detailed and accurate incident reports, daily logs, and other documentation as required.
  • Enforce site rules, regulations, and health and safety policies.
  • Provide a visible deterrent to crime and unauthorized activities, maintaining a professional and authoritative presence.
  • Liaise with emergency services, clients, and internal management during incidents.
  • Conduct bag and vehicle searches as per client requirements and company policy.
  • Perform routine checks on security equipment to ensure functionality.

Required Skills

  • Valid SIA (Security Industry Authority) Licence (Door Supervisor and/or Security Guarding)
  • Excellent observational and communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to remain calm and decisive under pressure and during emergencies
  • Strong understanding of security protocols, procedures, and relevant legislation
  • Physical fitness to perform duties, including extended periods of standing, walking, and climbing stairs
  • Basic IT literacy for report writing and system monitoring
  • Proof of right to work in the UK

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a security role, preferably covering both day and night shifts
  • Valid First Aid at Work qualification
  • CCTV Public Space Surveillance Licence
  • Full UK driving licence with access to own transport
  • Experience with conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques
