Key Responsibilities
- Assist residents with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, while respecting their privacy and dignity.
- Support residents with mobility, transfers, and ambulation, utilizing appropriate equipment and techniques.
- Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and monitoring dietary intake, ensuring residents receive adequate nutrition and hydration.
- Administer medication reminders and assist residents in adhering to their prescribed medication schedules.
- Engage residents in social, recreational, and therapeutic activities to promote mental and physical well-being.
- Monitor and report changes in residents' physical, emotional, or cognitive status to nursing staff and care team.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment for residents, adhering to hygiene and safety protocols.
- Document care provided, observations, and any significant incidents accurately and promptly.
- Communicate effectively and empathetically with residents, their families, and other members of the care team.
- Provide emotional support and companionship, fostering a sense of belonging and reducing social isolation.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in aged care or a similar support role
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong empathy, patience, and a compassionate nature
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Reliability and a strong work ethic
- Basic understanding of German language (B1 level or higher)
- First Aid and basic life support certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Formal qualification as a 'Pflegehelfer' (Care Assistant) or equivalent certification
- Experience with dementia care or palliative care
- Valid German driving license (Class B)
- Additional language skills (e.g., Polish, Russian, Turkish)
