Key Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, while respecting their privacy and dignity.
  • Support residents with mobility, transfers, and ambulation, utilizing appropriate equipment and techniques.
  • Assist with meal preparation, feeding, and monitoring dietary intake, ensuring residents receive adequate nutrition and hydration.
  • Administer medication reminders and assist residents in adhering to their prescribed medication schedules.
  • Engage residents in social, recreational, and therapeutic activities to promote mental and physical well-being.
  • Monitor and report changes in residents' physical, emotional, or cognitive status to nursing staff and care team.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable living environment for residents, adhering to hygiene and safety protocols.
  • Document care provided, observations, and any significant incidents accurately and promptly.
  • Communicate effectively and empathetically with residents, their families, and other members of the care team.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship, fostering a sense of belonging and reducing social isolation.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in aged care or a similar support role
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong empathy, patience, and a compassionate nature
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Reliability and a strong work ethic
  • Basic understanding of German language (B1 level or higher)
  • First Aid and basic life support certification

Preferred Qualifications

  • Formal qualification as a 'Pflegehelfer' (Care Assistant) or equivalent certification
  • Experience with dementia care or palliative care
  • Valid German driving license (Class B)
  • Additional language skills (e.g., Polish, Russian, Turkish)
