Key Responsibilities
- Process customer transactions accurately and efficiently using various POS systems (cash, credit/debit cards, mobile payments).
- Greet customers warmly and provide excellent service, answering questions and resolving minor issues.
- Maintain a clean and organised checkout area, including shelving and displaying products if required.
- Handle cash, manage floats, and reconcile daily transactions, ensuring accuracy and accountability.
- Assist with stock rotation, price checking, and product scanning in supermarket and retail settings.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including those related to health and safety, age-restricted sales, and security.
- Promote loyalty programs, special offers, or upselling opportunities where appropriate.
- Provide support to other team members and assist with general store/venue duties as needed.
- Manage customer queues effectively to minimise waiting times and enhance satisfaction.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a customer service role, preferably as a cashier or in a retail environment.
- Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail for accurate transaction processing.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to interact positively with customers and colleagues.
