Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with the accurate and timely processing of weekly and monthly payrolls for multiple clients.
  • Support in collecting, verifying, and entering payroll data, including new starters, leavers, hours worked, and deductions.
  • Help with calculating statutory payments such as SSP, SMP, SPP, and holiday pay.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee payroll records, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
  • Assist in reconciling payroll data and resolving discrepancies.
  • Respond to employee and client queries regarding payroll matters in a professional and timely manner, escalating complex issues as needed.
  • Support the preparation of payroll reports and summaries for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Assist with pension auto-enrolment duties and administration.
  • Stay informed about current payroll legislation and compliance requirements.
  • Undertake general administrative tasks to support the payroll department.

Required Skills

  • GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English, Grade C/4 or above.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • A proactive and eager-to-learn attitude.

Preferred Qualifications

  • A-Levels or equivalent qualifications.
  • Interest in pursuing a career in payroll or finance.
  • Previous administrative experience in an office environment.
