You will be provided with the necessary tools and technology to excel in a virtual setting, collaborating with a dynamic team committed to innovation in healthcare support. If you are ready to make a significant impact by ensuring the bedrock of healthcare — its information — is accurate, secure, and readily available, we encourage you to apply.

  • Collaborate remotely with healthcare professionals and administrative staff to resolve data discrepancies and ensure smooth information flow.
  • Contribute to the development and improvement of health information management processes and policies.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with industry best practices and regulatory changes.

Required Skills

  • Diploma or Certificate in Health Information Management (HIM) or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in health records management, preferably in a hospital or clinic setting.
  • Proficiency in using Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.
  • Thorough understanding of provincial (PHIPA) and federal privacy legislation related to health information.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain strict confidentiality of patient information.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification by the Canadian Health Information Management Association (CHIMA), e.g., Certified in Health Information Management (CHIM).
  • Experience with specific EMR systems such as TELUS PS Suite, Accuro, or EPIC.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and basic human anatomy.
  • Familiarity with medical coding systems (ICD-10-CA, CCI).
