Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and technical approval of road and highway infrastructure projects, ensuring compliance with DMRB, MCHW, and local authority standards.
- Manage project lifecycles from feasibility studies, detailed design, through to construction supervision and handover.
- Prepare comprehensive technical reports, specifications, and contract documents.
- Conduct site investigations, surveys, and risk assessments to inform design decisions.
- Liaise effectively with clients, stakeholders, contractors, and regulatory bodies.
- Monitor project progress, budget, and quality, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
- Utilize civil engineering software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroDrainage) for design and analysis.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the professional development of the team.
- Ensure all work adheres to health, safety, and environmental regulations and best practices.
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in civil engineering with a focus on infrastructure and road construction.
- Proficiency in CAD software, specifically AutoCAD Civil 3D.
- Strong understanding of UK design standards, including DMRB and MCHW.
- Proven experience in project management and site supervision.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Valid UK driving license.
Preferred Qualifications
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) status or working towards it.
- Master's degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
- Experience with drainage design software (e.g., MicroDrainage).
- Familiarity with NEC forms of contract.
- Previous experience working on local authority or Highways England projects.
