Key Responsibilities
- Assist patients with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting, ensuring dignity and respect are maintained.
- Support patients with mobility and transfers, using appropriate equipment and techniques safely.
- Assist with feeding and hydration, ensuring dietary requirements and preferences are met.
- Monitor and record vital signs (temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure) and accurately document observations.
- Maintain clear, concise, and accurate patient records, adhering to confidentiality guidelines.
- Report any changes in a patient's condition or concerns to supervising nurses or healthcare professionals promptly.
- Provide emotional support and companionship, fostering a comfortable and reassuring environment for patients.
- Assist with light household tasks and ensure the patient's immediate environment is clean and tidy.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety protocols, infection control policies, and all relevant care standards.
- Collaborate effectively with the wider healthcare team to deliver integrated and holistic care plans.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in a healthcare support role (e.g., caregiver, healthcare assistant).
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate and patient-centered approach.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a strong work ethic.
