Job Description

Beachcomber Resorts & Hotels is seeking an experienced Maintenance Worker with strong repair and plumbing expertise to join our dedicated team in Wooton, Vacoas-Phoenix. In this crucial role, you will be instrumental in ensuring the optimal functionality, safety, and aesthetic appeal of our facilities, contributing directly to a comfortable and flawless environment for our staff and, indirectly, to our guests’ experience. You will be responsible for a wide array of general maintenance tasks, with a particular focus on addressing plumbing issues, performing routine repairs across various systems, and diligently implementing preventative maintenance programs. This position requires a proactive problem-solver with a keen eye for detail, the ability to diagnose issues efficiently, and the capability to execute solutions effectively both independently and as part of a team. Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine plumbing repairs, including fixing leaks, unclogging drains, repairing or replacing fixtures (faucets, toilets, showers), and maintaining water heating systems.
- Conduct general facility repairs such as painting, carpentry, plastering, minor electrical repairs, and replacing light fixtures.
- Execute preventative maintenance tasks on various equipment and systems to identify and resolve potential issues before they escalate.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies, prioritizing tasks to minimize disruption and ensure operational continuity.
- Inspect facilities and equipment regularly to identify necessary repairs or maintenance, reporting any major issues to the supervisor.
- Maintain accurate records of all maintenance work performed, materials used, and equipment serviced.
- Adhere strictly to all safety protocols, regulations, and company policies, ensuring a safe working environment for self and others.
- Collaborate with other team members and departments to ensure seamless operation and effective resolution of maintenance challenges.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in plumbing installation, maintenance, and repair.
- Strong general handyman skills (carpentry, painting, basic electrical, masonry).
- Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and plumbing issues effectively.
- Proficiency in using a variety of hand and power tools safely.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to perform manual tasks, lift heavy objects, and work in various positions.
