Key Responsibilities

  • Load and unload construction materials, tools, and equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Prepare construction sites by cleaning, digging, and performing other general labour tasks.
  • Assist skilled tradespeople (carpenters, masons, electricians, etc.) as required.
  • Operate basic hand and power tools under supervision.
  • Erect and dismantle temporary structures such as scaffolding and barricades.
  • Ensure compliance with all site safety regulations and procedures, including wearing appropriate PPE.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment, disposing of debris and waste materials properly.
  • Perform general maintenance and upkeep of tools and equipment.
  • Follow instructions from site supervisors and foremen promptly and accurately.
  • Support the overall project by contributing to various tasks as needed to meet deadlines.

Required Skills

  • Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy objects (up to 25 kg) and perform strenuous tasks.
  • Reliability and punctuality.
  • Strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Basic understanding of construction site safety.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to different tasks.
  • Proficiency in spoken Sesotho and basic English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience (even informal) in a construction or manual labour role.
  • Knowledge of basic hand tools and their safe operation.
  • Valid driver's license (Code B or higher) is an advantage but not essential.
  • First Aid certification.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
