Job Description
Meikles Hotel is seeking a skilled and passionate Part-Time Spa Therapist to join our esteemed wellness team. This is an exciting opportunity for an individual dedicated to the art of healing and relaxation, to contribute their expertise within a luxury environment. As a Spa Therapist at Meikles, you will be instrumental in providing an exceptional and personalised spa experience for our diverse clientele, offering a comprehensive range of therapeutic and aesthetic treatments designed to rejuvenate the body, mind, and spirit. You will operate within our tranquil and sophisticated spa setting, ensuring a consistently high standard of service, professional interaction, and client satisfaction from the moment they step into our sanctuary until their departure. This role demands a meticulous approach to client care, strong technical abilities in various massage modalities, facials, and body treatments, combined with a warm, empathetic, and intuitive demeanor. You will be expected to conduct thorough consultations, tailor treatments to individual needs, and maintain the highest levels of hygiene and safety in all aspects of your work. Furthermore, you will uphold the spa’s serene ambiance, contribute positively to our collaborative team dynamic, and assist guests in selecting appropriate retail products to extend their wellness journey beyond the spa. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough client consultations to understand individual needs, health conditions, and preferences, tailoring treatments accordingly.
- Provide a comprehensive range of professional spa treatments including, but not limited to, various massage techniques (e.g., Swedish, deep tissue, hot stone), facials, body wraps, scrubs, and manicures/pedicures.
- Educate clients on the benefits of treatments and recommend appropriate home care products to enhance their spa experience and well-being.
- Maintain impeccable cleanliness and hygiene standards in treatment rooms, spa facilities, and equipment, adhering strictly to health and safety regulations.
- Manage client appointments and schedules efficiently, ensuring timely commencement and completion of treatments.
- Develop and maintain extensive knowledge of all spa services, products, and promotions.
- Actively contribute to creating a peaceful, relaxing, and professional atmosphere within the spa.
- Handle client inquiries, feedback, and concerns with professionalism and discretion.
- Collaborate effectively with other spa team members and hotel departments to ensure seamless service delivery and guest satisfaction.
Required Skills
- Certified qualification in Massage Therapy, Aesthetics, or a related field from a recognised institution.
- Proven experience (minimum 1 year) as a Spa Therapist, preferably in a luxury hotel or high-end spa environment.
- Proficiency in a wide range of spa treatments, including various massage modalities and facial techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a strong client-centric approach.
- Ability to maintain a calm, professional, and empathetic demeanor.
- Strong understanding of health and safety protocols and sanitation practices within a spa setting.
- Attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
- Flexibility to work part-time hours, including weekends and public holidays as required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Additional certifications in specialised treatments (e.g., aromatherapy, reflexology, reiki, advanced skincare).
- Experience with luxury spa product lines and ability to recommend and retail products effectively.
- Basic computer literacy for scheduling and client record management.
- A positive, proactive attitude and a strong team player mentality.
- Multilingual abilities are a plus, especially for international clientele.
