OVO Energy is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Remote Quality Assurance Partner to join our dynamic and distributed team. Key Responsibilities
- Champion quality assurance best practices and integrate them seamlessly into the agile development process for remote teams.
- Collaborate closely with product owners, developers, and designers to understand requirements, define acceptance criteria, and develop comprehensive test plans for new features and enhancements.
- Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test suites, including functional, regression, performance, and security tests for web and mobile applications.
- Proactively identify and assess potential risks and points of failure, providing strategic input on risk mitigation during planning and development phases.
- Lead and mentor engineering teams on various testing methodologies, tools, and automation frameworks to foster a 'quality-first' mindset.
- Implement and maintain automated testing frameworks and scripts to improve efficiency and coverage across our technology stack.
- Conduct root cause analysis for identified defects, collaborating with development teams to ensure timely resolution and prevent recurrence.
- Monitor and report on key quality metrics, providing regular updates to stakeholders on product health and release readiness.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our QA processes, tools, and documentation, adapting to evolving project needs and industry best practices.
- Participate in release readiness reviews, ensuring all quality gates are met before product deployment.
Required Skills
- Minimum of 6 years experience in Quality Assurance or Software Testing, with at least 2 years in a strategic or 'partner' role.
- Demonstrable experience working effectively in a remote or distributed team environment.
- Strong understanding of the full software development lifecycle and agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
- Proficiency in designing and implementing test strategies for complex web applications and APIs.
- Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, Playwright) and scripting languages (e.g., JavaScript, Python, C#).
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines and integrating automated tests.
- Solid understanding of database concepts (SQL/NoSQL) and ability to write queries for data validation.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical issues clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proactive, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with performance testing tools (e.g., JMeter, LoadRunner).
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
- ISTQB certification or similar.
- Experience in the energy sector or with IoT devices.
- Knowledge of accessibility testing principles and tools.
