Key Responsibilities

  • Clean and tidy all assigned guest rooms and public areas to the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation within specified timeframes.
  • Change linens and make beds neatly; replenish towels and amenities according to established procedures.
  • Vacuum carpets, sweep and mop hard floors, and clean windows and mirrors.
  • Clean and sanitize bathrooms thoroughly, including toilets, showers, bathtubs, sinks, and floors.
  • Dust furniture, fixtures, and fittings; polish surfaces as required.
  • Report any maintenance issues, safety hazards, or damaged items found in rooms to supervision promptly.
  • Handle guest requests courteously and efficiently, ensuring their satisfaction.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work cart and storage areas.
  • Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and hygiene standards and company policies.
  • Monitor and control supplies, minimizing waste and ensuring adequate stock levels.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Room Attendant or in a similar hospitality cleaning role.
  • Knowledge of cleaning and sanitizing chemicals and equipment.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
  • Physical stamina and ability to lift, bend, push, and pull as required.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A positive attitude and a customer-focused approach.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High School Leaving Certificate or equivalent.
  • Certification in hospitality or housekeeping management.
  • Familiarity with hotel property management systems (PMS).
  • Ability to speak multiple languages (e.g., Igbo, Yoruba, Hausa) is a plus.
