Key Responsibilities
- Perform regular landscaping duties including mowing, trimming, edging lawns, and pruning shrubs and trees.
- Plant, water, fertilize, and maintain flowerbeds, gardens, and other planted areas.
- Operate and maintain various landscaping equipment such as mowers, trimmers, blowers, and hand tools safely and efficiently.
- Ensure all pathways, driveways, and common outdoor areas are clean, free of debris, and well-maintained.
- Identify and address any issues related to plant health, pests, or irrigation systems, reporting significant concerns to the supervisor.
- Assist with the setup and dismantling of outdoor event areas as required.
- Perform general maintenance tasks related to outdoor furniture, fixtures, and amenities.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols, including proper use of personal protective equipment.
- Contribute to waste management and recycling efforts across the grounds.
- Collaborate effectively with other departments to ensure seamless operations and guest satisfaction.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
- Carry out other duties as assigned by the Head of Department.
Required Skills
- Proven experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, or a related outdoor maintenance role.
- Proficiency in operating common landscaping equipment and tools.
- Basic knowledge of plant care, irrigation systems, and pest control.
- Strong physical stamina and ability to perform strenuous tasks in various weather conditions.
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and aesthetics.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Reliable, punctual, and a positive attitude.
- Basic communication skills in English (verbal).
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in horticulture or landscape maintenance.
- Previous experience working in a hotel or hospitality environment.
- Knowledge of local plant species and environmental conditions in Lesotho.
- Valid driver’s license (Code B or higher).
- Ability to troubleshoot minor equipment issues.
