Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor surveillance equipment and access control systems to identify and report any suspicious activities or security breaches.
  • Conduct regular patrols of designated areas, both indoors and outdoors, to ensure the security of premises and personnel.
  • Respond promptly and appropriately to alarms, incidents, and emergencies, including first aid situations or fire alerts.
  • Enforce company security policies and procedures, ensuring compliance by all staff, visitors, and contractors.
  • Maintain accurate daily logs, incident reports, and other documentation related to security operations.
  • Assist with the entry and exit control of personnel and vehicles, verifying identification and issuing visitor passes as required.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external emergency services during critical incidents.
  • Provide excellent customer service while addressing security-related inquiries or concerns from staff and visitors.
  • Conduct routine safety checks and report any potential hazards or maintenance issues.
  • Participate in training sessions and drills to enhance security awareness and response capabilities.

Required Skills

  • Minimum of SSCE/WASSCE; OND or relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Proven experience in a security-related role, preferably in a corporate or campus environment.
  • Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
  • Basic knowledge of security procedures, emergency response, and first aid.
  • Proficiency in using basic security equipment (e.g., radios, CCTV monitoring systems).
  • Physical fitness to perform duties including walking, standing, and potentially lifting light to moderate weights.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in security operations or a related field.
  • Previous experience with access control software and alarm systems.
  • A valid driver's license.
  • Knowledge of local security regulations and protocols.
  • Fluency in additional local languages (e.g., Yoruba).
