Key Responsibilities
- Monitor surveillance equipment and access control systems to identify and report any suspicious activities or security breaches.
- Conduct regular patrols of designated areas, both indoors and outdoors, to ensure the security of premises and personnel.
- Respond promptly and appropriately to alarms, incidents, and emergencies, including first aid situations or fire alerts.
- Enforce company security policies and procedures, ensuring compliance by all staff, visitors, and contractors.
- Maintain accurate daily logs, incident reports, and other documentation related to security operations.
- Assist with the entry and exit control of personnel and vehicles, verifying identification and issuing visitor passes as required.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external emergency services during critical incidents.
- Provide excellent customer service while addressing security-related inquiries or concerns from staff and visitors.
- Conduct routine safety checks and report any potential hazards or maintenance issues.
- Participate in training sessions and drills to enhance security awareness and response capabilities.
Required Skills
- Minimum of SSCE/WASSCE; OND or relevant certifications are a plus.
- Proven experience in a security-related role, preferably in a corporate or campus environment.
- Excellent observational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to remain calm and effective under pressure.
- Basic knowledge of security procedures, emergency response, and first aid.
- Proficiency in using basic security equipment (e.g., radios, CCTV monitoring systems).
- Physical fitness to perform duties including walking, standing, and potentially lifting light to moderate weights.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certification in security operations or a related field.
- Previous experience with access control software and alarm systems.
- A valid driver's license.
- Knowledge of local security regulations and protocols.
- Fluency in additional local languages (e.g., Yoruba).
