Key Responsibilities

  • Assist lead sound engineers during recording sessions, live events, and post-production.
  • Set up, test, operate, and tear down audio equipment including microphones, mixers, speakers, and cables.
  • Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting of audio hardware and software.
  • Ensure proper signal flow and optimal sound quality across all stages of production.
  • Organize and maintain studio and equipment inventory, ensuring cleanliness and functionality.
  • Support the management of audio files, session data, and backups.
  • Help with basic audio editing, sound design, and mixing tasks under supervision.
  • Adhere to strict safety protocols and technical guidelines during all operations.
  • Collaborate effectively with production teams, artists, and clients to achieve desired sonic outcomes.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, new technologies, and best practices in sound engineering.

Required Skills

  • Proficiency with Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) such as Pro Tools, Logic Pro, or Ableton Live.
  • Strong understanding of audio signal flow and basic acoustics.
  • Experience with various types of microphones and their applications.
  • Ability to troubleshoot audio equipment and resolve technical issues quickly.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Physical ability to lift and move audio equipment (up to 50 lbs) as required.
  • Basic knowledge of live sound reinforcement techniques.
  • Valid G Driver's License and access to reliable transportation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Audio Engineering, Music Production, or a related field.
  • Prior internship or entry-level experience in a recording studio, broadcast, or live event setting.
  • Familiarity with network audio protocols (e.g., Dante, AVB).
  • Experience with video production audio synchronization.
  • Portfolio showcasing personal audio projects or contributions.
