Key Responsibilities
- Assist senior technicians and geologists in the collection of soil, rock, sediment, water, and air samples from various field locations.
- Learn and apply proper sampling techniques, chain-of-custody procedures, and sample packaging for laboratory analysis.
- Operate and maintain a variety of field equipment, including GPS units, sampling tools, and basic field vehicles.
- Record field observations accurately and meticulously, including geological features, sample locations, and environmental conditions.
- Adhere strictly to all health, safety, and environmental (HSE) policies and procedures.
- Perform basic data entry and assist with report preparation as required.
- Participate in site reconnaissance and logistical planning for field programs.
- Contribute to the general upkeep and organization of field equipment and supplies.
- Undertake assigned training modules and mentorship sessions to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
Required Skills
- Strong interest in geology, environmental science, or related fields.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks in various outdoor weather conditions.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
- Valid G-class driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Willingness to travel for field assignments, potentially for extended periods.
