Job Description

Career.zycto is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Site Foreman with a strong focus on labour management and site safety to join our dynamic team in Hampstead, London. This pivotal role requires a hands-on leader who can effectively supervise on-site personnel, coordinate subcontractors, and meticulously manage daily operations to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will be the linchpin between project management and the on-site workforce, driving productivity, upholding stringent health and safety protocols, and fostering a positive, efficient working environment. You will be responsible for interpreting architectural drawings, implementing work schedules, and conducting regular site inspections to guarantee compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies. Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate daily site operations, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to project timelines.
  • Manage and motivate on-site labour, including direct staff and subcontractors, optimizing productivity and quality of work.
  • Implement, monitor, and enforce strict health and safety procedures, conducting regular toolbox talks and risk assessments.
  • Conduct quality control inspections to ensure all work meets project specifications, regulatory standards, and company benchmarks.
  • Liaise effectively with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders, providing regular progress updates and resolving site issues.
  • Interpret construction drawings and specifications, ensuring accurate execution of design plans.
  • Oversee the allocation and proper use of materials, plant, and equipment on site.
  • Maintain accurate site records, including daily logs, incident reports, and progress reports.
  • Proactively identify and address potential problems, implementing effective solutions to mitigate risks and delays.

Required Skills

  • Proven experience as a Site Foreman or similar supervisory role in construction (minimum 5 years).
  • Valid CSCS Card (Gold/Black preferred).
  • SMSTS or SSSTS certification.
  • Strong understanding of UK construction health and safety regulations.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
  • Proficiency in site management, planning, and problem-solving.
  • Full UK driving licence.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NVQ Level 4/5 in Construction Site Supervision or equivalent.
  • First Aid at Work certification.
  • Experience with various construction methodologies and materials.
  • Familiarity with project management software (e.g., MS Project).
  • Working knowledge of environmental regulations pertaining to construction sites.
