Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily site operations, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to project timelines.
- Manage and motivate on-site labour, including direct staff and subcontractors, optimizing productivity and quality of work.
- Implement, monitor, and enforce strict health and safety procedures, conducting regular toolbox talks and risk assessments.
- Conduct quality control inspections to ensure all work meets project specifications, regulatory standards, and company benchmarks.
- Liaise effectively with project managers, clients, and other stakeholders, providing regular progress updates and resolving site issues.
- Interpret construction drawings and specifications, ensuring accurate execution of design plans.
- Oversee the allocation and proper use of materials, plant, and equipment on site.
- Maintain accurate site records, including daily logs, incident reports, and progress reports.
- Proactively identify and address potential problems, implementing effective solutions to mitigate risks and delays.
Required Skills
- Proven experience as a Site Foreman or similar supervisory role in construction (minimum 5 years).
- Valid CSCS Card (Gold/Black preferred).
- SMSTS or SSSTS certification.
- Strong understanding of UK construction health and safety regulations.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
- Proficiency in site management, planning, and problem-solving.
- Full UK driving licence.
Preferred Qualifications
- NVQ Level 4/5 in Construction Site Supervision or equivalent.
- First Aid at Work certification.
- Experience with various construction methodologies and materials.
- Familiarity with project management software (e.g., MS Project).
- Working knowledge of environmental regulations pertaining to construction sites.
