Career.zycto is seeking a talented and passionate Architect to join our dynamic Building Design & Planning team in Manchester. This is an exceptional opportunity for a skilled professional to contribute to a diverse portfolio of projects, ranging from contemporary residential developments to innovative commercial spaces and public sector initiatives. You will play a pivotal role in all stages of the architectural process, from initial concept development and feasibility studies through to detailed design, planning submissions, and construction support. Key Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to the conceptualisation, design, and development of architectural projects from inception to completion.
- Prepare and present design proposals, including detailed drawings, specifications, and 3D visualisations, using industry-standard software.
- Conduct site surveys, feasibility studies, and analyses to inform design decisions and ensure project viability.
- Develop comprehensive planning applications, ensuring compliance with local planning policies, building regulations, and statutory requirements.
- Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including structural engineers, M&E consultants, and landscape architects.
- Manage client relationships, ensuring clear communication, understanding project requirements, and delivering solutions that exceed expectations.
- Oversee project documentation, tendering processes, and provide on-site support during the construction phase.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, new technologies, and sustainable design practices to continuously enhance design quality and efficiency.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to a positive, collaborative team environment.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign).
- Strong understanding of UK building regulations, planning policies, and construction methods.
- Excellent visual and graphic communication skills, with a strong portfolio showcasing diverse project experience.
- Demonstrated ability to develop innovative design solutions and resolve complex architectural challenges.
- Exceptional client-facing and presentation skills.
- Strong project management and organisational abilities, capable of working to deadlines.
- A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture from an ARB-accredited university.
Preferred Qualifications
- ARB registration and RIBA Chartered Architect status.
- Experience with sustainable design principles and BREEAM/LEED certification processes.
- Proficiency in 3D modelling and rendering software such as SketchUp, Rhino, V-Ray, or Lumion.
- Previous experience leading small to medium-sized architectural projects.
- A track record of successful planning application submissions and approvals.
