Career.zycto is seeking a talented and imaginative Interior Designer with a specialisation in Space & Aesthetic Planning to join a dynamic team in Didsbury, Manchester. This pivotal role involves transforming client visions into tangible, inspiring environments, from conceptualisation through to successful execution. You will be instrumental in creating functional, safe, and aesthetically pleasing interior spaces for a diverse range of projects, including residential, commercial, and hospitality sectors.

As our Interior Designer, you will take ownership of projects, working closely with clients to understand their needs, preferences, and budgetary constraints. Your expertise will guide them through material selections, furniture layouts, lighting schemes, and colour palettes, ensuring every element harmonises to achieve a cohesive and impactful design. You will be responsible for developing detailed design presentations, including mood boards, 2D layouts, and 3D visualisations, effectively communicating your creative concepts.

Beyond aesthetics, a strong understanding of space planning principles, building codes, and accessibility standards is crucial. You will manage projects from initial brief to final installation, coordinating with contractors, suppliers, and other professionals to ensure seamless project delivery on time and within budget. Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with clients to define project scope, goals, and design requirements.
  • Develop creative design concepts, including space plans, furniture layouts, lighting plans, and material specifications.
  • Produce detailed technical drawings, 2D floor plans, and 3D renderings using industry-standard software.
  • Select and specify furniture, fixtures, equipment (FF&E), finishes, and colour schemes.
  • Prepare comprehensive design presentations, mood boards, and sample boards for client approval.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring projects are delivered on schedule and within financial parameters.
  • Coordinate effectively with contractors, architects, suppliers, and other trades professionals.
  • Conduct site visits, inspections, and quality control throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Stay abreast of current design trends, materials, and technological advancements in interior design.
  • Ensure all designs comply with relevant building codes, regulations, and accessibility standards.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Interior Architecture, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in interior design, with a strong portfolio showcasing diverse projects.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SketchUp, 3ds Max, Revit, or similar design software.
  • Excellent understanding of space planning, ergonomics, and material properties.
  • Strong aesthetic sensibility and attention to detail.
  • Exceptional client communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of current building codes and accessibility standards (e.g., Part M, BS 8300).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree or advanced certification in Interior Design.
  • Experience with sustainable design practices and LEED/BREEAM certified projects.
  • Familiarity with project management software.
  • Membership in a professional organisation (e.g., BIID, RIBA).
